Alert routes
A route says who is told, through which channel, and in what order. It is defined once and reused by monitors, hosts and run-failure alerts, so the on-call rota exists in exactly one place.
Maintenance windows
A window silences alerts for the chosen targets for a period. Checks keep running and history keeps being recorded — only the notification changes. Without it every planned maintenance wakes the on-call engineer, and after twice nobody wakes up any more.
Status pages
A public page at its own address, showing the monitors you choose and the incident history. It answers the question that reaches support before anyone has to answer it.
- You choose monitor by monitor what is visible.
- Incidents appear with their opening, updates and resolution.
- The uptime shown is computed from the same history that feeds the alerts — it is not a separate number.
