Formats
| Format | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Inline HTML | A few rows that need reading on a phone, without opening an attachment |
| CSV | Input for another system, or a large volume |
| Excel (XLSX) | The recipient will filter, sum and paste it somewhere else |
| The document has to look the same for everyone who opens it |
Recipients
A report points at one or more routes, and each route pairs a channel with a list of recipients. Addresses can be entered loose or come from a saved audience, reusable across reports. Addresses that returned a hard bounce go onto the suppression list and stop being retried.
Delivery rules
The rule decides whether the send happens, based on that run’s result. It is what separates a report from an alert — and what stops somebody’s inbox receiving thirty empty messages a week until it becomes a filter.
- Skip the send when the result comes back empty.
- Send only above a row count.
- Escalate to another channel past a threshold.
